Megan Lucier
Megan Lucier specializes in providing interim marketing support, typically at the Marketing Director level. She combines her expertise as a disciplined, strategic marketer with her resourceful, adaptable approach. This enables her to keep marketing departments functioning and progressing until a permanent organizational structure is in place.
Megan’s career started in account management, providing strategic marketing direction and managing projects at several Boston-based advertising agencies. Her client roster included Pilgrim Healthcare, Filene’s Basement, Ocean Spray, and Friendly Ice Cream among others. Megan’s consulting career started in 1995 when she functioned as a “gun-for-hire” senior marketing professional at companies such as Liberty Mutual Insurance, Orthodontists Fee Plan, Office Environments and Staples, Inc. Significant projects included brand identity development, new market expansion and target audience research.
In 1998, Staples, Inc. hired Megan to build and manage a new in-house advertising account management department for this office supply superstore. She created the framework and policy, hired staff and set measurable goals for the department. Specific projects under her tenure included creating a frequent buyer incentive program, re-branding the catalog and developing new business ventures in complimentary disciplines such as small business payroll services.
Megan has functioned multiple times as an Interim Marketing Director for J. Jill, a national women’s specialty retailer. In 2007, her guidance and direction allowed for smooth transition for a new Chief Marketing Officer, successful development and implementation of a Unique Selling Positioning, and complete restructuring of the account management department processes and personnel. In 2009, J. Jill contracted Megan again as their Interim Marketing Director. This time, her involvement included the preparation of an annual marketing plan, contract negotiations for strategic barter partnerships and development and management of loyalty programs.
In 2008, Megan accepted a contractor position at TJ Maxx, the largest off-price retailer in the world. Her projects included development of brand guideline standards and budget planning and tracking. Later that year, she was hired by The Timberland Company as a Women’s Global Marketing Manager to help launch a new line of women’s footwear, clothes and accessories internationally.
Megan received her BA from Colgate University and enjoys hiking, skiing and yoga. She has served on her local Conservation Commission for many years.
